1969 was a year of news for Smile. They recorded their disk «Ghost of a smile». With Trident studios (London), they recorded three songs (Earth, Doing Alright and Step On Me). Later, they entered in De Lane Lea Studios to recorded another three new songs (April Lady, Polar Bear and Blag).
On March 1970, Tim Staffel leaved the band to join «Humpy Bong». This made that a young man called Farrohk Bulsara (later he will change his name to Freddie Mercury)(voice and piano) could join Smile. He had the idea of changing the name of the band to Queen. He said that was a short and forthrigh name. One year later John Deacon (bass) joined Queen, completing the definitive formation.
